Star Wars V: Empire Strikes Back (1980)

Sequels hope to accomplish what ‘Empire’ was able to do with ambition and cinematic wonder. Luke is learning to control the force. Leia and Han are adventuring aboard flying trash aka the Millennium falcon. Darth Vader is painfully close to setting a trap that will bring all of them together. With a completely new structure it avoids falling into the rhythm of ‘A New Hope,’ while maintaining momentum and excitement. Dagobah and Luke’s training is one of my favorite moments in any Star Wars. This film wonderfully expands it's imaginative world of possibilities, Jedi masters, and imminent danger with improvements in all aspects of it's craft.
