![]() Taking an established IP with a pretty good story that's had 2 successful releases in video game form (original and remastered) and then completely changing the story was kind of a brain dead move on the screenplay writers move. Can this even be called an adaptation? They didn't just change a few details... This is not the game's story whatsoever. Don't get me wrong - I could have enjoyed this despite all that. And I did enjoy some of the films jump scares and practical effects. But the story was absolute hot garbage and it stole the name to sell some tickets! The best and scariest section of this film was a montage of video's taken on a cellphone of some of the nights we didn't get to experience as viewers. It's the exact moments that sold me in the films trailer!
