![]() Legendary filmmaker Robert Zemeckis has now made the biggest budget Hallmark movie ever. Unfairly pulling at our heart strings by once again teaming up with Tom Hanks and Robin Wright. Except this movies ambition is literally thinking inside the box - of a home - to tell a story as broadly undefined as the progression of time, life, and people? I think both Francis Ford Coppola and Robert Zemeckis are getting a little old to be crafting big budget projects, without anyone asking them if it's worth it. This is no doubt one of the years most boring movies. Offering it's audience arguably less to enjoy than The Crow Remake from earlier this year.

![]() This movie is so bad I had to search for a one-star png. Two stars would have been too much. I haven't seen a movie this terrible in a long time. Where do I start with this... I watched the original for the first time before this and was pleasantly surprised by it's style and dark sense of humor. The remake had neither of those things. In an effort to make Shelly a main character it spends the first half of the film developing a relationship between her and Erik. This movie doesn't do romance well. It doesn't do anything well. It's a story about revenge it's bound to have at least satisfying violence. Even if you suffer through the first half there is no silver lining. They decide to make Erik a piece of shit. He's terrible at everything. He's only competent for the final action sequence without any explanation. Before that he's actually scared to get hurt despite being invincible. Remember the charming relationship between sweet little Sarah and the police officer from the original? Non-existent in this film. It actually lacks side characters. There's no personality. There's nothing here to enjoy. |
