The Little Things (2021)

The Little Things has the shell of a fantastic detective thriller; a remarkable cast, a capable director, and a decent trailer. It doesn't get any better than that, unfortunately. An hour into this film and nothing remarkable happens. It takes its time creeping to a sluggish climax where everything feels sort of meaningless. I found little enjoyment here and it's dark material only serves to unsettle your stomach. Denzel did his best but I think he understood this script was nothing special. Same goes for Rami. Jared Leto took it above and beyond and is remarkably good. Too bad he's only in the last quarter of the movie.
