THE RISE OF SKYWALKER

Ending a nine episode saga requires planning and sacrifice. The filmmakers must accept that not everyone can be pleased and must make ambitious decisions to create a glorious ending. Unfortunately, 'The Rise of Skywalker' tries too hard to please it's terrible fanbase and separate itself from episode 8 resulting in a choppy, rushed, undeveloped ending that is simply not satisfying. There are moments in this film that resemble the world of Star Wars in inventive and ambitious ways. Yet, the decisions made in closing the saga not only disappoint but also change pre-established history. As a fan of 'The Last Jedi' I really thought there was something I could love about this film. While Rey remains a great character to me, this is not the ending I was hoping for.
