Elton John's talent is undisputed and this musical adaptation of his life holds back none of the glitter, glam, or cocaine. I was not expecting a full-on musical though and it sort of threw me off. The cast mostly handled it well and Taron Egerton proved talented enough to handle the many whims and wishes of the fabulous performer. I'm sure that handling the performance was tough enough but I feel like he never truly excelled in the role. I think this limitation may have also been the scripts fault, which felt plastic at times. Meaning that it wasn't completely believable to me. I'm sure that diehard fans of the artist and/or musicals will absolutely love it.
