REVIEW: MARRIAGE STORY

There are not many films that capture raw emotion as vividly and accurately as Noah Baumbach's powerhouse, 'Marriage Story.' Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson both give one of the best performances of their careers. Driver hands-down does aided by the weight of his character Charlie's arch. While Johansson's character Nicole is embracing a new life for herself and her son, Charlie is trying to hang on to the old life they had together being torn by the pressure of divorce and possibly losing rights to see his son. This movie depressed the shit out of me. It's paints a real portrait of a system that helps pull people apart. The cinematography and score pair perfectly without ever getting in the way of the writing and performance. A well rounded film that showcases amazing talent and is one of 2019's most powerful experiences.
