REVIEW: IT CHAPTER TWO

Chapter Two is an ambitious attempt to capitalize on the success of it's predecessor. It has a huge budget, long run-time, and an A-list cast. I really enjoyed the wackiness of certain parts and how obscure some scenes were. Contrasting to this, we also get ultimate cheese with bad writing, bad acting, and some character building moments that are laughably bad. I think the A-list cast was a bad idea. Bill Hader is hilarious and great comic relief. But he ruins all tension in any of his scenes. James McAvoy is super talented and can be seen cringing at some of his bad lines. Jessica Chastain is wonderful but is foiled by any dialogue with terrible actor Jay Ryan. Honestly, the best performance hands down is Bill Skarsgard as It. Earning this movie that extra half a star. This entertainment only stretches so far and the scariest part is by far the runtime.
