"Let me give you a tip. If you want to make some money here, use your white voice." Boots Riley's directorial debut is a strange satire about the pitfalls of modern capitalism, among a lot of other comments and metaphors. This is fine absurd comedy that hits like an acid trip but ends in less than two hours. Lakeith Stanfield (Atlanta, Short Term 12) does incredible work as the protagonist and is accompanied by a variety of great actors; Donald Glover, Terry Crews, Armie Hammer, and Tessa Thompson. There's a lot to see and hear in Sorry to Bother You- but it's not for everyone. Be prepared for something out of a dystopian black-comedy comic book.
