Love, Simon presents a "normal" American life as a upper-middle class family with a perfect house and family dynamic. Mom and dad love each other and they've been successful in everything they've ever done, which includes raising Simon. Unlike Lady Bird, which presents a character that you can relate to through many flaws, Simon is almost someone to be jealous of. Its hard to feel bad for a character that has everything in-order besides the one area that the movie focuses on. Besides this overwhelming issue the movie is enjoyable. The script is funny and the actors are great. Its not a movie I'd recommend to everyone but if you need to see something in theaters right now, you can't do much better than Love, Simon.
