Blindspotting is a culturally driven drama influenced by and infused with lyrical rap, which acts as both a vehicle for scene direction and a bond between characters. The two stars Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal both hold the weight of the script well and easily captivate with both humor and emotion. Social activism at it's finest commenting on the problematic probation system, police brutality, racial diversity, and even the costs of healthy living. It's colorful and energetic the entire hour and a half. What really makes this movie standout though, is the poetry. It's something that's hard to do and utilized effectively.
