Horror will always remain the same for me. No matter how many jump scares I take without even a flinch, or the amount of bloodthirsty monsters that don't make me look twice.. A simple thought-out and well executed shot stirred with plot thickening questions and a jarring score will have my mouth hanging low and my palms sweaty. It Comes At Night is a wonderfully horrific film. Following in the footsteps of great horror films like The Shining and combining dramatic elements of slow-burning pictures like The Road. It Comes At Night creates a dynamic for its viewers where, in one hand you're questioning the characters intentions, and in the other you're figuring out "it." This dilemma kept me on the edge of my seat the entirety of the movie. Joel Edgerton's powerful performance is moving. Combined with the irry and dark soundtrack that narrates a story so intriguing it'll have you taking a second glance into the corner of your dark room before you close your eyes.
