Hacksaw Ridge (2016)

​​Mel Gibson's return to cinema is a hands down brutal war film about sacrifice. Ambitious enough to be in the same lane as Saving Private Ryan but it doesn't quite reach those heights. Boasting great cinematography, the choreographed war sequences brought tears to my eyes. While the narrative lacked in some areas, the best moments of this film are some of the best scenes in 2016. Also, incredible  strong performances from Hugo Weaving, Vince Vaughn, and Andrew Garfield!
