I want to thank Mike Birbiglia for creating this bittersweet perspective of the comedian's life. I've been going through this comedy phase recently. Ended up scrolling through Netflix and found this gem. This was a great movie for me. I've spent a lot of time performing and have reaped the pros/cons of that lifestyle, which Birbiglia does such a great job capturing in this movie about improv performers. The characters and stories are vivid and real. By the end I wasn't just watching an improv group struggle to maintain their relationship - I was feeling crushed by the weight of their passion conflicting with each other. For being this moving in only an hour and a half - there's a lot to be said about Birbiglia's writing talent.
