Charlestown, Massachusetts is a breeding grown for bank robbers. This trade is handed down from father to son. "The Town" is an exceptionally well done bank heist film that elevates itself from the over-saturated genre with a heavy script that doesn't stop throwing punches. Ben Affleck and Jeremy Renner are phenomenal as the leads delivering some of their best work. This is thrilling, heart-pounding entertainment that intelligently works a neutral angle placing it's audience in-between the conflict without ever picking a side. This effect creates weight in it's crafty tension and delivers some of my favorite heist scenes. Leaving my palms sweaty and my back hurting from leaning forward against the suspense. Affleck proved himself in the director's chair with this Boston crime flick.
