The Departed (2006)

​​Bloody, uncompromising ensemble genius about crooked cops and the cost of redemption. Scorsese's Boston masterpiece is a testament for both dedicated direction and powerful acting; A surprising break-out for Mark Whalberg, DiCaprio and Damon both give career defining performances, and Nicholson brings back his Joker. "The Departed," like most of Scorsese's work, is a film that I can re-watch over and over finding enjoyment in every detail I had missed or forgotten. This is inspiration for my own writing. What a great movie!
